Three significant times our National Colors were raised.  Our country will not forget Hill 881S.

Were never without volunteers to attend to flag detail.  However, only had one person, Lt. Owen S. Mathews, who knew how to blow the bugle.

In order to appreciate this, you must bear in mind that we males never grow up, we only grow older.

A 'Morning Report' submitted by SSgt. K. G. Taylor and Sgt. J. M. Jones of the 1st Platoon, India Company.  These Marines knew that a bit of frivolity  was good medicine for their troops.  Items such as this make a game out of the dreariest of situations, who still remembered how, and enhanced the morale of India Company.  Click for the full six page report.

Resupply missions around Khe Sanh were often preceded by laying smoke on each side of the helicopter's final approach path to the LZ.

The Hill 881S LZ was "hot" and a bit too tight, but this crew completed the mission as expected.  We were often reminded of the damage the rotor blades could sustain and still get us home.
