1stLt. Dave "Smiley" McSorley held the collateral
duty of Awards Officer. Dave had the uncanny ability to take an incident
where we fouled things up, got bullet holes in the airplane, then managed
to get back home safely and, made heroes of us. Wow, what a guy!
He was also a very capable pilot.
