All the air crews were delighted with the addition of the AH-1G Cobra to the support inventory.  It sure made the enemy put their heads down which meant they weren't aiming at the CH-46s.

Maj. Jack Pipa is the pilot of this Cobra.  Jack had been the ordnance test pilot at NAAS China Lake prior to his second Vietnam tour and the introduction of the Cobra to SEA.  Jack was so impressed with the "Purple Foxes" that he volunteered to become a "Phrog" driver and our Executive Officer.

1stLt. Jerry "Raquel" Welsh one of several who were assigned the collateral duties of Operations Duty Officer.  Among other things they were responsible for writing the flight schedules and keeping the Commanding Officer appraised of ongoing flight operations.
