STUMP DAMAGE AT NAM DONG
Deep concern about this UH-34, a power loss allowed it drop on a stump at Nam Dong.  If we were too long assessing and repairing the damage the Viet Cong might zero in on us with mortars. L to R, 1stLt. Theriault, SSgt. Dunn, (head only) unknown, 1stLt Montague, CWO-2 Patton, SSgt Dan Pavan, unknown, Sgt. Birkhead.

This photogenic Montagnard child picked up all eighteen of the plastic containers that our spark plugs came in as we discarded them trying to restore power to the above pictured  "Dog."  She is carrying them in her hat.
