"Tail-End-Charlie" joins flight from the Dong Ha LSA.
Upon arriving at Khe Sanh's hill outposts they will descend through the
clouds to be greeted with mortar and automatic weapons fire while providing
critically needed supplies.

This Uh-34 remained on our 'front porch' for the duration
of the siege. Note tail pylon is missing due 120mm mortar impacting
too close. Coined the phrase, "You'll know India's LZs when you get
there, they mark 'em with downed helos."

The final passes of the A-4s during the Super Gaggle
prep were made on each side of the hill laying down smoke to mask the view
of the NVA gunners. The whole idea of Super Gaggle was outstanding.
