Ernie Gomez and Johnnie Canales. Marble Mt. Early 1969. We just pre-flighted Ernie's bird and took a moment for a photo op. I was usually Ernie's door gunner but the day he and the crew went down I was the door gunner on the chase bird. I don't know why or how that came about. I saw Ernie's bird go down that day.
