From left, Sgt. Titus "Mac" McClintock and me, Cpl. Randall Wahoske.  Sgt. McClintock was Section Leader for the 81mm mortars and a very fine Marine.  As you can see, towards the end of the siege we did not have much left of our uniforms.  I dug the hole in the trench, which is visable in the background, with the idea of obtaining shelter in case I was caught away from my bunker when 'Mr. Charles' was firing his 120mm mortars.  The hole went straight in then veered to the side for protection.  Am doubtful about how much protection it would have provided, but seemed like a good idea at the time.
