I first met Sid at supply school at Mountfort Point.  We spent several months in Barsatow together before getting our orders changed from supply to 0311. I last saw him shortly after we arrived in Vietnam on a convoy near Camp Evans - we were all headed north.  I ache every day for his loss and feel enormous pain for his mother and father.  Sid was a most extraordinary boy.

SIDNEY IS MY COUSIN AND ALTHOUGH I NEVER MET HIM OR DONT REMEMBER DOING SO.  AS A NAM VET MYSELF I WOULD JUST LIKE TO SAY I THINKING OF YOU CUZ AND MAY YOU REST IN PEACE. SID WAS AN ONLY SON AND IT HURTS SO BAD TO THINK WHAT THAT REALLY MEANS TO ME. HAVING ONLY ONE SON I CAN ONLY THINK OF THE HURT THAT MUST OF CAUSED TILL WE MEET AGAIN CUZ REST IN PEACE AND KNOW THAT YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN

Cpl. Mac Leod's name is currently aboard the Stardust spacecraft, launched Feb. 7, 1999, which visited Comet Wild-2 (pronounced Vildt-2) in 2004.  Stardust spacecraft is now returning to planet earth for recovery on 15 January 2006.  You may read more on this project here.
