It all began when Margaret A. "Meg" Hunter requested assistance for her 8th grade students to use information from the HMM-364 (Vietnam) and the Warriors of Hill 881S site to learn more about the Vietnam War and honor those who made the supreme sacrifice for their service and their country.  Her initial request may be viewed here.
Angela Newton's Marine was Cpl. Charles W. Bryan,  leader of reconnaissance team "Barkwood."
Jordan Butler's Marine was 1stLt. Kenneth B. K. Kozai, a pilot with HMM-364.
Tenielle Carter' Marine was Capt. Ernest E. Bartolina, a pilot with HMM-364.  Jan Bartolina, Ernie's sister said, "Her teacher, and this young girl, are trying to do something really different, and it was also very good for me - to have Ernie looked at as a living person and not just another name on the wall."
Seth Mehok chose to report on the ongoing efforts of Joint Task Force Full Accounting to find, and return home, those who have not been accounted for and listed as "Missing."
Jarrod Gotschall's Marine was Maj. Leonard R. Demko, a pilot with HMM-364.

Jesse Foutz's Marine was Cpl. Delbert L. Leasure, a member of a 105mm Howitzer detachment on Hill 881S during the siege of Khe Sanh.
