Close Air Support (CAS) - Continued

Good Morning NVA!  FAC advises fast mover of hit in relation to target.

Fast mover adjusts his run, is "cleared hot" again and drops more ordnance.

Pilot says he still has some napalm on board, and is "cleared hot" again.

Another warm wake up call is delivered.
More destruction is rained down on Hill 881N.
Ordnance expended, targe zone obscured by smoke, fast mover heads home.

Capt. Dabney, obviously pleased keys the mike, "Thanks (call sign), good shooting, India Six Actual, out."

Epilogue
Col. Dabney recalls one serious problem he encountered with the Super Gaggle
prep and CAS missions was his troops.  They looked upon these events as enter-
tainment and came out of their protected areas to observe them.  Company Gunny
had to patrol trenches to keep troops under cover, because with jets overhead and
bombs going off, they could not hear tube pop or incoming whistle of the NVA
mortar rounds.
