1stLt. John Thomas Wallace was transferred to HMM-262 when the "Purple Foxes" stood down to return to the US.  Lt. Wallace was killed on April 20, 1971 and was the last casualty suffered by HMM-262. Click here, or the photo, for narrative of incident.
