Dear Purple Foxes,

We have heard about Jay LaRue's passing due to his lost battle with pancreatic cancer this month at the young age of 62.  I felt compelled to do something to honor his friendship, so I emailed his wife, Inmi, to ask if there is a memorial that I might contribute in his memory.

She wrote back that a donation to the pancreatic cancer organization, Pancan, would be the one she would most appreciate as they helped Jay through his fight and gave him comfort.  I have seen Jay only once, at the Pensacola reunion, since 1969, but he was one of us, and I felt compelled to
do something to honor the comradeship that we all felt towards one another then and now.  If you feel you would like to make a contribution to Jay's memory, here is the information:

The web site is www.pancan.org.  Go to the site and scroll about 50% down the home page until you see a picture of purple irises (purple is good) and the "Lasting Impressions Garden".  Click on it and it will guide you to an opportunity to make a contribution to Jay's memory.  It can be done by credit card, check or by phone.  There is an address for checks, and you will find it there.  It is easy to use a credit card.  Some people like to call and the toll free number is there (877-272-6226).  It is a 501 (c) (30 non-profit organization and your gift is tax deductible.

If you decide to make a gift, you will need the following information in order for Jay's wife, Inmi, to be notified.  It is:

 Inmi LaRue
 45-119A Mololani Place
 Kaneohe, HA 96744

I made mine today.  If you have questions, let me know.  I am not an expert on this site, but I will help.

You may know of others who will want to take advantage of this.  Please email this to them.

Merry Christmas to all of you and a Happy New Year.

Semper FI,

Ken Wade, '68-69 Purple Fox
