Merle A. "Fuzzy" Goff

JEFFERSON, OHIO-Merle A. "Fuzzy" Goff Jr. 53, of North Spruce Street, died Saturday, March 23, 2002 at the Hamot Medical Center in Erie after a probable coronary.

He was born May 31, 1948, in Geneva, Merle A Sr. and Margie D. (Powers) Goff.  He was a Jefferson resident his entire life. Mr. Goff served in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War.  He was a driver for Victor Trucking in Twinsburg for the past 15 years.

His biggest source of enjoyment was his family.  He also enjoyed antique cars, stock car racing, playing billiards and flying.  He had an admiration for airplanes.

Survivors include his wife Gail M. (Kapudjija) Goff; children Ryan K. Goff of Jefferson, Misty Goff of Williamsfield Township and Tabitha Goff of Venice, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Merle in 1996 and Margie in 1998, and brother Donald.  Funeral is 1 p.m. Thursday at the Fleming Funeral Home, Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St, Jefferson, officiated by Gordon Emerson, lay pastor of the Jefferson United Methodist Church.  Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery where United War Veterans of Ashtabula County will conduct military services. 

Calling hours are Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
