make a pit stop. Bet the EPA would not approve of such a sanitary
facility today! At least someone thought enough to place a 'privacy
fence' in front of the head.

1stLt. Charles J. "Chic" Schoener earned three Distinguished
Flying Crosses while serving with the Purple Foxes. He was also one
of only two Purple Foxes to participate in Operation Frequent
Wind (the evacuation of Saigon) where he was awarded a Single Mission Air
Medal.
