Assessing the damage an RPG did to YK-5.  This may have been a Boeing Tech. Rep. taking notes.  It took a long time to repair this damage.  Read that incident by clicking here.

Cpl. Raymond A. Rodrigues was the right gunner of YK-5 when the bird was hit by a rocket propelled grenade.  Cpl. Rodrigues now lives in Alamogordo, New Mexico.  Read that Incident by clicking here.

LCpl. Steve Lovelady was wounded in the above RPG incident and was air evacuated back to the United States.  A comment in the squadron's command chronology indicates that it was probably Lovelady's "bullet bouncer" that saved his life.
