Cpl. Dean A. Reiner who was transferred to the squadron in September of 1968 from HMM-265.  Dean was the crew chief for YK-7.  On his 1,000th, and last combat mission in Vietnam, he was shot down at Hill 55.

From left; Cpl. George W. "Pig Pen" Wharton and Cpl. Reiner.  They stayed at Hill 55 for one week repairing the damage to YK-7 so it could be flown back to MMAF.  Look close on the larger image for a bullet hole at waist level between them where one unfortunate Grunt lost his life.
