This mansion is representative of the period when Da Nang was known as the Riviera of the Orient.  The French, and  others, lived very well during the colonial period.

Valley south west of Da Nang and west of what latter would be known as combat support base An Hoa.  It leads toward the "coal mines" and was known as "indian country" for the entireVietnam conflict.
