On a sweltering day Cpl. Smith
found these "Vietnamese Tractors" in their swimming hole in the Nam Dong
area. They looked so content and cool that Smith thought seriously
about joining them.

A Chinese Nung that the Special Forces had sent down
to guard our plane while we were at their outpost. They were excellent
warriors and helped keep the Army Special Forces advisors alive.

orphanage. All had been wounded, one three times. Note the
one second from left with cigarette. Children always seem to be the
losers in war.
