SSgt. John C. "Roadrunner" Thompson as shown in an article written by the MCAS Iwakuni, Torri Teller of 6 July 1964.  The article was entitled (click to view) "The Loadmaster of Vietnam".  The title of this picture was "Helo Guides on Thompson's Signals".

Khe Sanh before it became famous for the 76 day siege.  HMM-364 was standing by here to possibly rescue a Navy pilot shot down in the Plain of Jars.

This Air Force F-102 Delta Dagger was returning from a reconnaissance mission.  Their duties were kept very quiet when we were at Da Nang.  Their billeting area was even "off limits" to the Marines.
